Support of PEGL PEGL, according to him has initiated the national conference on protocol to outwit the global competitiveness where individuals and businesses need to work for their brand to stand out by positioning the protocol industry as a major component of organisational success story. “Prosline Event Ghana Limited is an expert in Protocol Management Services with 19 years of experience, which has come to realise the need to equip industry players and event organisers at large, to be proactive and prevent any negative activity that would take away the glory of events” he added. He said the conferences which would continuously be organised by PEGL would open a new worldview in the area of fundamental principles of protocol, and how to improve the image and productivity of individuals and institutions through effective protocol. He also assured that, the country would continuously be the hub of businesses for economic growth if protocol procedures are projected. Speaking on behalf of the Minister of Tourism, Art and Culture, Mrs Catherine Afeku, the Director of Research at the Tourism ministry, Mrs Olivia Opoku Adoma said the hospitality industry in the country had shown a resilience against global recession over the years as well as steady growth in terms of job creation, increase in internal arrivals, investments in tourism facilities and services, especially, restaurants, car rentals and tour operators. According to her, there has also been a significant increase in both the number of airline and flight which provides a strong base for promoting business and leisure tourism. She said the government was committed to doing its part by creating a conducive environment for tourism investments, easing business pressure on tourism operators and re-introducing appropriate incentives to boost growth of the sector. And that the ministry has already started working on the marine drive project which stretched from the old castle to the art centre by putting up iconic structures and recreational centres, such as hotels, gulf courts and theme arts to enhance the growth of the hospitality industry. All these projects, she said, was going to create jobs for the youth, generate income and foreign exchange earnings in the tourism and hospitality industry. In the wake of the continuous fall in the cedi, and plummeting of oil, cocoa and other commodities, Mrs said the hospitality industry remains resilient and will continue to create more jobs for the teaming unemployed youth.
